In this workshop, come to better understand proper alignment of the postures and lines of energy of the body in the top basic poses practiced in class.  Learn the components of a Basic Vinyasa, Breathing (pranayama) techniques and end with a guided meditation.  Great for those new to yoga or needing a refresher!

There is ever-increasing scientific evidence confirming the power of complementary and alternative medicine like Acupuncture, Yoga, Reiki and Meditation.

Mantra Meditation comes to us from Ayurveda, the “Sister Science” to Yoga. What many people don't realize is that Ayurveda's most important treatment for anxiety and depression is Ayurvedic Sound healing, also called the Yoga of Sound.

Sound healing is the most important part of the holistic psychology of Ayurveda and Yoga. It is "Yoga for your mind." Sound healing promotes healing at the subconscious level, where the roots of modern anxieties are found. Mantra meditation has many benefits, both physical and psychological. It helps us feel less anxious and more rested. It lowers the blood pressure and boosts the immune system. Cortisol, that damaging stress hormone, goes down.

Sanskrit mantras, starting with OM, are sound formulas, packed with energy and intention that have a profound effect on the body-mind. When these sound waves (mantras) are combined with thought waves (intentions), they become powerful tools for insight, healing, creativity and spiritual growth.

creating mandalas with michelle o’Connor

Join us for a fun, creative afternoon workshop making Mandalas! Mandalas are circular designs symbolizing the universe and how bodies and minds relate to its' infinite nature. Mandalas have spiritual significance and are used for meditation and symbolize your life's journey.

First we’ll begin by demonstrating a couple of ways to do a mandala and then be set free to practice a few mandalas so you can get a feel for building the circle using shapes, etc. Then, we will focus on doing 1 from start to finish and coloring it in. As we make our mandalas, we will set intentions and then focus in on the designs, allowing intuitive thoughts and feelings to arise from within. There is no wrong way to make a mandala! Come away with clarity of your intention(s) and take your mandala home with you to work powerful magic in your life!
